Major James Lennox MacFarlane and his Malahat Mania: A hilarious story of an Irish rogue and rebel whose friends and family thought was “crazy as a loon” for attempting something the government said was impossible. Responding with, “Bah, Government Bureaucrats they’re as thick as manure but not half as useful”, MacFarlane’s obstinance defied everyone and got the Malahat Road built.

Minnie Paterson, the Heroine of Cape Beale: A moving story of how a young lighthouse keeper’s wife risked her own life in a heroic battle to single handedly rescue the crew of a sinking ship off the remote west coast of Vancouver Island.
