What is the HUB Film Club?

The HUB Film Club is a community cinema here at the HUB at Cowichan Station. Started in May of 2016, our aim is to bring people of all ages together over good films and of course, popcorn! Films screen on the fourth Friday of every month, 10 months of the year, and we invite you to be a part of it. We show an eclectic program of films; both classic and new, Canadian and international, for families and for adults. We have access to new theatrical releases approximately 4 months after their 1st run in professional theatres. All proceeds go to support the wonderful, volunteer-run community centre that is the HUB.

We recognize that Cowichan Station was established as a settler community that displaced and gravely disrupted the lives of the Quw’utsun’ people. We recognize that this is part of a colonial history that has caused great and ongoing harm to First Nation peoples in and beyond this place that we call home.  We recognize also that we bear the responsibility for doing all that we can to work toward reconciliation and understanding between cultures, in the hope of building a better future for us all.
